Unconventional travel magazine cover, masthead, and layout design. 

TimeOut Magazine is launching a unique set of city guide profiles that reflect their non-conformist past; however the new magazine will be completely removed from their current aesthetic and not associated with their existing brand identity. To achieve this, a new name and logo lockup was developed for the magazine – NOMAD.


NOMAD’s readers are travellers who are curious and open-minded. A visual language was established to reflect this maverick attitude through consistent mastheads and image treatments. The framing elements on the cover design are also reflected in the page folios. The interior article is about the Trans-Siberian Express, an epic and mysterious train journey. The repetition of type throughout the spreads was inspired by train tracks.
